The beards

To bring attention to the cause, we decided to grow beards. No one is particularly thrilled with the results, especially my wife and kids. Most folks describe the look as “mountain man” or “scruffy.” I’ve never been much of a facial hair guy. Still, I’m keeping it. At least until I reach my fund raising goal. It remains to be seen if Mike’s will actually grow in by April. In any case, please help put an end to this ridiculousness and donate to The New England Center for Children.

‘The wife’ here… He’s right, his family is not fond of the beard and it’s ridiculousness. And Rob forgot to mention he dyed his beard to cover the gray! I’m confused as to how this will raise money, but I contribute it to ‘a guy/sports thing’ and hope that they meet their goal soon. At least they didn’t shave their heads…?

Lest someone thinks I’m vain, check out this picture. I have no problem with the gray. Although now that I’ve covered it, I can’t go back.

Hey Rob:
This is my first time on the site and I think its great. I didn’t know about the beard part – its pretty funny, actually. A word of caution … there is real temptation to hold off donating until the very end just to see how long your beard grows! I guess the upside is that it keeps your face warm as you run those long runs on extra cold days. Good luck with training!

Gray beard better. Man, I can’t wait to ridicule you in person, after I donate of course. Good luck training guys.
